Anyone who has used a dating app will have experienced the same unease that I feel when buying jeans from ASOS. The online fashion retailer boasts close to 2,500 styles, from ripped to skinny fit to organic denim. The sheer abundance of choice means I spend almost an hour scrolling through the options, eventually selecting a high-waist vintage pair that I’m almost certain I’m not going to be able to pull off.
